Tracer Gas Method is employed to find the leaks in all of the pipelines. This is a unique technique in which pressure test is employed using a Tracer Gas. For conducting this test, the pipeline to be inspected is isolated from other sections and Tracer Gas is injected into the pipelines. The pipeline is pressurized to a certain value of pressure and pressure drop is monitored after that. If a pressure drop appears then the pipeline is scanned using a gas detector for any leaks.
Pinpointing a leakage irrespective of noise from the leakage and of ambient noises
highly accurate to pinpoint the leak location
non-distructive , non-invasive way of testing
pipes are exposed to gas when empty or full
locates leak based on concentration of tracer gas
How It Works ?
The Tracer gas test employs Gas Detectors to scan the underground pipelines. The leak location could be identified based on the scanning results which provides the gas concentration in various regions.
WHICH ARE THE MAIN APPLICATION OF ACOUSTIC LEAK TESTER?
The Tracer Gas Leak Tester may be used to find the underground pipe leaks in water supply lines, firefighting lines, chiller lines etc. It can also be used to find indoor leaks in Buildings, Villas, Toilets and Kitchens
WHICH PIPELINE SYSTEMS IS IT APPLICABLE?
The Tracer Gas Leak Tester can be used in locating the leaks of Chiller Pipes, Irrigation Pipes, Water Supply Pipes, Firefighting pipes etc which are underground. It can also be used in pipelines in buildings such as apartments, Villas etc.
PIPELINES UP TO WHAT DEPTH CAN IT LOCATE?
The Tracer Gas sensors can be used to locate leaks underground even up to 10 meters deep. However, this also depends on various factors such as pressure of fluid in the pipe, size of pipe, material of the pipe, size of the leak etc.
WHAT WILL BE THE ACCURACY OF LOCATING THE LEAK?
Usually with Tracer Gas Test the accuracy of pinpointing the leak is up to 1-2 meter.
DOES IT REQUIRE SHUTTING DOWN THE PIPE SYSTEM?
Yes. The pipeline to be tested might be needed to isolate for this test to be carried out.
